Wool

Our collection of wool fabrics is crafted to perform—each blend is thoughtfully developed to offer distinct benefits like softness, breathability, flexibility, and temperature regulation. Merino wool offers insulation and moisture-wicking properties, making it a reliable choice for comfort in all seasons.

Mulesing-free

All Merino wool used is 100% mulesing-free, verified with mulesing-free documents, and 99% of our wool is sourced from South Africa.

Mulesing is less common in South Africa, because South African farmers typically raise Merino sheep with lower wrinkle skin or crossbreeds that are less susceptible to flystrike. This reduces the need for invasive procedures like mulesing.

Breathable

Merino wool is hygroscopic, meaning it can absorb moisture vapour. It can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water without feeling wet. This makes it ideal for regulating body moisture, as it transports sweat away from the skin while remaining dry to the touch. This breathability makes it comfortable during both rest and activity, and in both warm and cold environments.

Stabilises body temperature

Wool fibres have a crimped structure that traps air and provides insulation. This structure slows heat transfer and helps maintain a consistent body temperature. Whether the surroundings are cold or warm, the wool adapts, helping to keep the wearer comfortable. Even when moist, wool continues to insulate due to an exothermic reaction that releases heat, as moisture is absorbed. It also works to balance humidity by moving moisture outward, maintaining thermal comfort.

Soft wool

Merino wool is a fine fibre—ranging from 17.5 to 21.5 microns.

The fineness allows the fibres to bend easily, giving it a softer hand feel compared to thicker wool.
